Matropolis™ started with a simple problem: the perfect gift for my niece and my friends’ kids. A unique Baltimore gift that would grow with them. Everything I found was the same generic, scratchy playrug I remembered from my own childhood. They felt thin, cheap, and lacked any real imagination.

It took over a year of sketching, prototyping, and testing materials until we had it right. We didn't just want a floor covering; we wanted a modular play system. We developed a 0.47” thick, BPA-free foam that's hypoallergenic, wipes clean in seconds, and is durable enough for a busy living room or a Baltimore classroom.

We launched with the Baltimore edition, featuring 20+ local landmarks in a high-contrast design. Whether you’re using the 24 tiles to cover the floor, snapping them together to build 3D play cubes or towers, it’s built to be a safe, stimulating launchpad for imagination. Our quality and standards surpass the ASTM F963 - U.S. Toy Safety Standards.
