Our Story

Matropolis™ started as a gift for my niece. I wanted something she could actually play with for years to come. She'll outgrow that Ravens onesie in a season and she doesn't have the taste buds for crabcakes just yet. 

I remembered those city rugs from when I was a kid. Itchy, dusty, generic. Not reinventing the wheel... just putting Baltimore on it. Non-toxic, BPA-free, wipe-clean, built to last past the phase where everything gets chewed on.

One problem: the manufacturer had a 500-unit minimum.

So I did what any loving uncle would do and ordered 500 of them.

Baltimore was first. Boston is next. The plan is to keep going, one city at a time.

None of this happens without the Baltimore community... the retail partners, the early supporters, all the friends who showed up. Thank you for supporting a small business with big city dreams.
